Who we are

Taiga Motors is a trading name of Taiga Group Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16053109). Registered office: Lytchett House, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FA.

We decide how your personal data is used, so we are its controller. For anything about your data, email hello@taigagroup.co.uk or call +44 (0) 7950 948832.

What we collect

Only what you give us, and only what we need to reply:

• Viewing request: your name, phone number, email address if you add it, the car, the days and times that suit you, and any message.
• Get first look, or to hear if a reserved car becomes available: your name, a phone number or email address, the car, and what you're looking for if you tell us.
• Find me a car: your name, email address, phone number if you add it, and the details of the car you're after, your budget and timing.
• Car inspection: your name, email address, phone number, the link to the advert, where the car is, the type of seller and the dates that suit you.
• Calls, WhatsApp messages and emails: whatever you choose to tell us.
• If you buy a car or a service: the details we need to complete it, such as your address and payment details.

Like every website, ours is hosted on servers that record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address and browser, for security. We don't use these to identify you.

Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and arrange what you asked for. This is a step you ask us to take before any agreement, and in our legitimate interest in answering you.
• To sell you a car or provide a service: to carry out our contract with you.
• To keep the records the law requires, such as for tax and accounts.
• To keep the website secure and working, in our legitimate interest.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, share it for others' marketing, or send you marketing emails. We only contact you about what you asked us for.

Who handles it for us

A few trusted services help us run the website and reply to you:

• Netlify hosts the website and processes the forms you send.
• Resend delivers the emails your forms create.
• Google Workspace holds our email.
• Contentful stores the website's content. Nothing you send us is stored there.
• Umami counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.

Some pages show content from other services. A silent drive video loads from YouTube only when you press play, and the map on our visit page comes from OpenStreetMap. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own terms apply. These services have their own privacy policies.

Outside the UK

Some of these services may process data outside the UK, for example in the European Economic Area or the United States. When they do, your data is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by the safeguards the law requires, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or international data transfer agreements.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don't lead to a sale or a service: 12 months.
• Records of a sale or a service: 6 years after it ends, as tax and accounting rules require.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to object to how we use it, or to send it to you or someone else in a usable format. Email hello@taigagroup.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
